What's up, ARDS fam! July was an unforgettable month filled with incredible events. We're so excited to relive some of the best moments and celebrate the amazing vibes of our community! Studio Launch
July 26th and 27th marked a significant milestone for the studio, which has now evolved beyond just a dance space. Formerly known as ARDS India, it has been reimagined as "Another Realm of Diverse Stories," a new name that reflects its broader mission. The studio is no longer solely dedicated to dance; it's now a dynamic hub for all forms of art, creativity, and performance. The official launch was a vibrant, two-day event filled with a wide array of activities. Attendees could explore various stalls and engage in immersive workshops that went beyond dance, celebrating the studio’s new identity. These two days were a true celebration of creativity and community, filled with fun, energy, and a fresh artistic spirit.
Collab series 2.0
The first day of the studio's launch kicked off with the highly anticipated "Collab Series 2.0," a showcase of three dynamic workshops led by iconic dance duos. Each session was a massive success, filling the studio with unique energy and creativity.
The series began with an explosive hip-hop workshop led by Sushan and Shiva. Their class was held to the track 'Silver Tooth'. Fluid energy filled the studio as Somaiah and Swady took the stage. Their workshop was done to 'Timi Nacha Na,' creating a class that was soulful and full of vibrant rhythm.
The day concluded with a dynamic hip-hop workshop from Arunn and Divya. Their performance to 'Shawty Get Loose' was a lively and engaging finale, leaving everyone energized and inspired.
Immersive workshops The second day of the launch was a diverse celebration of artistic expression and well-being, offering a wide range of activities for everyone. The morning began with mindful movement workshops designed to connect participants with their bodies. Jugnu Agarwal led a calm and restorative yoga session, while Ashwathi guided animal flow workshop introduced a dynamic and grounding practice. For those seeking more high-energy movement, Likith Achaiah lead the breaking workshop which provided an introduction to this foundational hip-hop style.
Beyond dance, the day also celebrated different forms of creativity. Prachi Shetty hosted a detailed and hands-on crochet workshop, teaching a new skill to all who attended. A special highlight was the insightful panel discussion, built by dancers for dancers, which was hosted by 404 Now Discovered. This event brought together the community to share perspectives and discuss the future of dance. The day concluded with a playful and engaging hula hoop workshop led by Divya Rachel, leaving everyone with a sense of joy and accomplishment. Waacking workshop with Mekhola Bose
A highlight of the launch weekend was a special edition waacking workshop led by the incredibly talented Mekhola. The class was a massive success, with over 34 participants filling the space, eager to learn from one of the best. Mekhola's dynamic teaching style and expertise created an electric atmosphere, making the workshop an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance. It was a true celebration of the waacking style and community right here at ARDS.Â
Loose Your Legs - House Intensive by Moneesh
This four-day dance intensive was a deep dive into the art of house dance, offering a comprehensive program for every dancer. Attendees learnt the basic structure to fundamental footwork, advanced freestyle techniques and strategic battle preparation. The event was more than just training; it was a vibrant celebration of groove and community spirit, leaving every dancer inspired, connected, and ready to take their skills to the next level.
Houseful of Soul by Akshay
HouseFul of Soul is a dynamic creative collective built on the foundations of house music, dance, and a strong sense of community. Its recent edition was a house battle event, held right here at ARDS India, which was a vibrant showcase of that spirit. The event brought dancers together to celebrate the culture and rhythm of house music, creating an energetic space for creativity and connection. The night concluded with a captivating performance by 1BHK, Bangalore's newest house crew. They made a powerful debut, showcasing their collective talent and establishing them as a fresh and vibrant voice in the city's dance scene.
That concludes our July rewind! It was an amazing month but the excitement doesn't stop here, the upcoming months are packed with a fresh lineup of events you won’t want to miss.
